Ghost Elk
Moraine Park, Rocky Mountain National Park
f/10 | 1/800s | 600mm | ISO 640
As the snow began to fall harder and harder, I thought my hopes of seeing any wildlife were squandered. I took my time enjoying the peaceful tranquility brought upon by the thick snowflakes dampening the landscape as I made my way to exit the park. Much to my delight, I rounded the final corner to find a small herd of bull elk traversing across the snow-covered road and into the meadow. Keeping my distance, I grabbed my 600mm lens and began taking shots. The snow was so thick at this point that most of the elk were heavily obscured, which added a neat ambiance to the scene.
