Milky Way Setting Over Mills Lake
Mills Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park
f/2.8 | 13s | 16mm | ISO 6400
Available in both standard orientation and square orientation, this milky way shot at Mills Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorites.
This past Wednesday, I went upto Mills Lake 2 hours before sunrise to watch the Milky Way set over the mountains. I was met with clear skies, a slowly thawing lake, freezing temperatures, and unseasonably calm conditions. With the sky getting lighter every second, I rushed to set up my shot and dial in my settings. Shortly after these shots, the sky swallowed all the stars as the sunrise began to stretch across the sky.
