The Sea of Clouds
Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park
f/11.0 | 1.6s | 70mm | ISO 100
The panoramic view of the sea of clouds from yesterday during sunrise. I woke early because I had heard rumors of potential northern light viewing as far south as Denver. Unfortunately, it was much too foggy and I almost gave up on the morning photography session. Fast forward about half an hour and I found myself nearing Rainbow curve in Rocky Mountain National Park. Just like in an airplane, my car eventually broke through the miles and miles of heavy fog and revealed this stunning view. I arrived early enough to run around and find the best composition easily accessible and waited for the sun to rise past the fog. It painted the mountains in orange glow and I was very grateful to be in the right place at the right time on this mystical Halloween morning.
